Palestine Regional Medical Center is a two campus facility that has been serving Anderson and the surrounding counties for over 60 years. As a 150-bed facility, Palestine Regional employs around 500 staff, which includes over 70 physicians representing 28 medical specialities. The facility offers a Birth Place, Level II nursery, newly renovated Pediatrics unit and four pediatricians on staff. The facility includes a five-bed Hospice Unit, Center for Wound Care, and inpatient adult psychiatric services and Senior Care.

Palestine, Texas, is a small city located in the eastern part of the state, equidistant from Dallas, Houston, and Shreveport, Louisiana. Originally the western terminus for the Texas State Railroad, the area is known for its natural environment and boasts 23 historical sites on the National Register of Historic Places. Lake Palestine is a freshwater lake that offers an array of fishing. A large part of the population is retirees, which helps boost the thriving healthcare sector in the area. Yearly temperatures present relatively cool winters and hot summers. The downtown area includes a 25,000-square-foot Civic Center, various museums, and parks. Annual festivals hosted by Palestine include the Dulcimer Festival, the Dogwood Trails Festivals, the Hot Pepper Festival, and Frost Fest in the winter.
