Plano, Texas, is a mid-sized city and suburb of the Dallas—Fort Worth—Arlington metropolis. Only about 17 miles from downtown Dallas, about 80% of Plano’s visitors are business travelers. A number of corporations call this city home; not limited to Cinemark Theaters, Crossmark, Toyota Motor North America, Rent-A-Center, and Pizza Hut. As one of Texas’s two major concentration of Chinese Americans, Plano has the sixth-largest percentage of ethnic Chinese, contributing to the rich diversity within the city. Plano is named for the flat plains of the area, but does include a number of beautiful parks and outdoor spaces, connected by biking trails. The city is also included as one of the 12 suburbs serviced by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) public transportation system that will hopefully continue to see more growth in the near future. The climate, like much of Texas, is humid subtropic, with hot, humid summers, and mild to cool winters.
